Hall Wines
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Like a blackberry/raspberry jam jar, stuffed with a little licorice and and a teaspoon of sweet peppers. Very ripe, not much in the way of acidity, and tannins are soft. I think Hall is better drunk in its few years off release.

Dec 27th, 2015Very mature cabernet... Red fruit and raspberries on the nose. Palate was very different than earlier bottles I've tasted. Very little fruit remained in this bottle. Replaced with forest floor and spices... think bay leaf, tobacco, and hints of nutmeg & cloves.

Aug 4th, 2018Good floral nose. Notes of dark fruit, cherries, apricots, sultanas, bit of clove and nutmeg. Tannins have softened and now provide a dry cocoa-like background.
Overall... drinking very well now

I'm an idiot. Thought I was being slick opening my last '06. Saw I opened a bottle 10 months ago meaning I intended to save this. First world problems I know....
Not much has changed since last tasting. This is still a force to be reckoned with. Black cherry fruit and mocha flavors dominate, with road tar picking up on a long, loamy and silky finish. Rich and lush, with lively tannins. This oozes elegance. The cork broke but everyone could use more dietary fiber. Still believe it has 5 years to go.

black currant and blackberry with a slight eucalyptus tint on the front side are working well with the mellow tannins as I bite nto the prime rib roast at thanksgiving. A great expression of Napa cab after 10Y.

Nov 25th, 2016Not what I would expect from a Hall Napa Cab. Extremely fruit forward, and very Syrah like. Not bad, but just didn't meet expectations for a cab. Taste this blind, and I guarantee Cab isn't in your top 3 guesses.
