SLH Santa Lucia Highlands Estate Grown Pinot Noir
Well rounded Jelly nose on smell. Metallic light body is more forward than the fruit on taste. Mild alcohol presence with slightly stingy finish. May be a good compliment to a fatty or strong cheese as it has a cutting quality that may wipe that palate. Price point is slightly high for the taste of experience. The smell is the better step of this liquid journey. Perhaps it’s attributed to more lighter fruit such as strawberry and less deep ness from darker fruits.

1 person found it helpfulJun 6th, 2021Really good, especially at the price point. Strawberries, cherries, and cola, with a hint of vanilla. Juicy and refreshing with a satisfying finish.

May 3rd, 2021Very nice pairing with some relatively spicy Italian food that is heavy with Parmigiana.

Apr 26th, 2021Lighter garnet color, nose with a touch of fruit and a hint of wet earth. On the lighter side of Pinot, smooth, fruit up front, light tannins and mild acidity. Some strawberry notes but also blackberries and dark plum. A touch of leather- Pretty good if you’re looking for a light red.

Feb 7th, 2021Exactly as the label describes black cherry {comma} red plums allspice. Personally not liking the allspice character.

Feb 7th, 2021A truly great California Pinot Noir. Fruity, big, deep taste. Would have this with a steak. Lovely.

Jan 24th, 2021Had their Chardonnay and loved it. This was good but not as distinctive as I’ve come to expect from the Santa Lucia Hoghlands area. Felt a bit more like an Oregon Pinot.

Jan 15th, 2021Cherry with notes of blackberry and woodsy oak. Took a while to open up but was delicious. Bolder, complex taste for a Pinot, similar to a cab.
