Hermannsberg GG Nahe Riesling

Deep and ripe nose that is totally giving me Corton Charlemagne vibes. Ripe apple, melon, cantaloupe and pear. Gorgeous in its purity. Man this is like white burgundy mimicry. Gorgeous spicey notes and complex smokey tones and amazing mineral notes. Such an enveloping and evocative nose. Palate is so awesome. Rich and textured and so deep and this has those German iodine and hazelnut notes that make you think your in Corton Charlemagne. Ripe and unctuous and so forward and unreal marzipan notes on the mid and finish. Wow does this really hammer you on the finish and not let up. Remarkable elegance and large scaled but nimble. As this airs it gains remarkable aromatic complexity with pulverized stones and barely ripe tropical fruits. So complex. Rich yet tense is the biography of this wine. One of the best 18’s I’ve had from Germany.

As good as 18 maybe better but different style. THE German Corton Charlemagne.

This is actually the reserve which is aged in barrel longer. Stunning wine. Nose is super mineral and white cherries. Also iodine and white pepper. Some juicy peach and tangelo. Gorgeous. Palate is rich and energetic with outrageous complexity and elegance. Wow the sweet white cherries and apricots are decadent but this is linear and straight and so focused. Stunning. What a finish. These wines demand age. Will go to 9.7 and 9.8 with air.

Nose has the classic porphyry aromas and are just wonderful. It’s so expressive. Such mineral precision. Insane clarity of wet stone aromas. Nose is a bit quiet as well as it’s too cold. Palate is hauntingly elegant with unreal rockiness and sappy minerality. Not much fruit right now but the underlying architecture is perfect. Stunning purity. This is a rock star. Literally. What intense minerality on the finish but so so elegant. Just stunning. Some apricot now on the nose. Crystalline purity and just so well made and everything in its place. A stunner.

Aged nose character. Confectionary. Nose is so complex. Superb purity and intensity. Lovely opulence. Superb intensity. What purity. Juicy and clean.

Killer killer nose. White cherry Nahe love. Apricot, peach, spice, lanolin, vanilla extract. So pretty. So ebullient. Very open aromas. Herbs. Very complex. Very serene. Wonderful peach skin. Palate is massive, complex, tangy, refined and young with massive fruit skin and fruit pith flavors. Amazing purity and balance. Ripe but perfect freshness and minerality offset it. As it airs the minerality becomes more aromatically pungent. Really delicate but now also super mineral and saline. That sweet type of saline. Really long and delineated. Lovely structured finish. Really really long. Terrific. Really top level finesse with air and a terrific crystalline saline structure. Salty and long. Nose gets more pluot. As it airs slightly confectionary.

Very snappy an drinkable Riesling Trocken. Delicious with Thai food.
