Blanc de Blancs Traditional Method Chardonnay

You wouldn’t know it’s not Champagne.

Every vintage I’m more and more impressed with British sparkling wine. Lemon meringue, yellow apple, brioche.

Wonderful lots of autolysis.

Impressive British sparkler. Lean style. Still not champagne, but quit good.

There is a lot to look forward to if this is where English sparkling wine is headed.

Great mineral and stone character. English estate Chardonnay, 36 months on lees, 2011 vintage. Delightful.

Medium-bodied with great acidity. Champagne like mineral notes with ripe apple, citrus, and buttered toast. Good complexity and long finish.

Darn. The hype around English bubbles is warranted. Same mineral verve as Champagne but with a bit riper Chardonnay fruit profile. Really fresh.
