Red fruits, spice, slate. kind of Volnay like. Very haunting and wet stones and wet earth. Palate has good red fruits, cranberry, strawberry. nice acidify, great energy. Very good and balanced. Floral and very nice nose. High acid, red fruited, very pure, excellent balance. Nose is getting a honeyed element. Really really good. Nice supple texture allied with very bright acids. This is a wake me up wine.

@Delectable Wine this is the one star. * thanks!

There’s something about middle Mosel Pinot I find thrilling. Nose has herbs, light red cherries and sour cherries and commandingly soars from the glass. Hint is spicey wood that is so appealing and if course this is on top of huge amounts of aromatic slate. This has unreal levels of just gorgeous minerality. Palate has oceans of sweet fruit and lovely soft impression with an intriguing mineral and salty finish. Sour and mid season cherries galore. Beautiful velvety tannins that are wonderfully sweet but also a bit big and drying but I think air will resolve that. Very juicy and pure with a hint of slightly green/sour element on the finish that keeps this from 9.3. Let’s see what air does. Air has made this decline slightly to a 9.1.
