Aglianico is one of two varieties that are my Eleanors (the other is Chenin Blanc). I keep wanting to drink one that lives up to the accolades it garners and 90% of the ones I’ve had miss. This one is once again brutally tannic. Color is deep bit surprisingly advanced looking. Scorchy and coarsely tannic on the palate. There a lot of deep rocky minerality too, but it hitched a ride on a porcupine. I guess I’ll throw it in the fridge to cook with and grab another bottle from the cellar, because I don’t need to self-flagellate today. It’s the damn weekend.

Mar 25th, 2021Love it. Simple and easy to drink. But seems like what a weeknight Italian should be. Robust tannins but nicely balanced. Great value. Def buy again.
