Monthly wine group met up and had an Italian wine night at one of the local Italian BYOB spots. Really fantastic Italian wines were brought, as well as some random bottles that were outside the theme (but worthy of opening regardless of theme).
Stephen thought it would be fun to throw this in as a non-Italian wine. It compared somewhat similarly to the 2010 Super Tuscan we had earlier, but this was lighter and a bit one dimensional. Felt extracted, though the primary flavors of cherry, cedar, currant, and herbal spices were there.

Jun 21st, 2021Nice acidity with notes of black cherry. We've held onto this bottle for a few years, it's a getting toward the end of its run, but worth the wait.

Feb 6th, 2020Out-of-state grapes on a Texas label wine, gift bottle from a touristy vineyard and fashionable wine name - all the elements were here for total disappointment. Maybe that is why I was pleasantly surprised after this wine was opened a day in the wine fridge at cellar temp. First day the vanilla from oak aging was profane, but the next day that greatly faded and you have an overall nicely balanced Tuscan blend.
