Third red of the evening. Deep garnet red. Needs time, slight portiness and whiskey on the nose. Dark fruits and figs too. Tasted blind but reminded us straight away of the 2009 Force Majeure IV we had earlier last year. Moderate tannins (6/10) and full bodied. A little cherry liquor and dark cocoa on the palate. Long finish and the nose is a bit off-putting. This needs time to mellow out.

Wine was crimson red. Very tight on the nose even after five hours. Then started with some dark cherries, a little spicy and slightly smokey. Moderate plus tannins (7.5/10) and moderate body. A lot of acidity with pepper and dark berries. Long finish that carries the acidity. Honestly would not touch another one of these for two years. Can easily see this wine improving to a 92 or 93 when it gets time to fully integrate and smooth out. Drink till 2030.

Cork was a little depressed so had to coravin to be safe, nothing wrong still doing well.
Color: ruby red
Nose: berries And cedar, light smoke
Palate/finish: medium tannins, solid body. His back and slowly goes down.

Southern Rhine blend Mourvèdre dominant 56, Syrah 38, 6% Grenache made by James mantone, syncline winemaker, fermented in concrete has a good amount of blackberry huckleberry fruit with notes of animal, Dark spices. This has a bit of estate fruit which is third leaf from the stolen fruit incident. Black licorice spice 1.5 tons stolen- around 50 cases. Dark spices and pretty floral notes very pretty this needs a rack of lamb still has that dusty mineral notes. Big and chewy with rich decadent fruit and bright acidity cleaning things up with pretty floral notes only 220 cases produced. Finish 45+ dusty mineral notes through the finish. Excellent+

A delicious GMS Blend. IMHO Force Majeure wines are always great. Deep Red color and dark fruit . Great balance and long nose. Buy this wine.

Not a huge fan of many GSM blends, but this one with 48% Mourvedre is more my style. Deep dark fruits with no more more of a blue fruit palate. Solid structure and a long finish. Nice.
