The Bully Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Been loving myself some Washington juice. This Cab (with a splash of petit Verdot) is a monster, coming in at 14.9% alcohol and clearly not lacking for any ripeness in a typically-tough 2011 vintage. Lots of cedar, charred oak, vanilla, and herbal goodness on the nose. The palate is weighty and rich, but with a balancing acid. Loads of sweet Asian spice (almost like the Asian Zing sauce at B-Dubs), cinnamon, and gobs of black fruit.. ala black cherry and blackberries. The cedar and spice keep playing a consistent tune on the nose, reminding me of the 2011 St. Juliens I've had lately.. especially Gloria. I'd love to try these two side by side. A really nice bottle.

This has mellowed out a lot in the past 6 months. The tannins have integrated nicely and the dark fruits have taken center stage.

This guy is no Bully anymore, in fact he has matured into a fine gentleman. Elegant, fruit forward, little leather n spice. 92 pts

Taking on a nice Bordeaux style as it gets older. Blue and black fruit with a mineral finish.

2010 vintage.earthy aromas, deep red color, long after taste. Excellent bottle.

Some of the best deals in Washington wine come from Gorman IMO. Medium body, brambly red fruit, ink, and meat. Still on the young side, but ready after 30 minutes in the glass.

I will drink this for its name alone.
