Dark ruby in color with a wide brick/ purple rim.

On the nose, black currants, blackberries, over ripen strawberries, wood, chocolates, dark roasted coffee, barnyard, green pepper, bitter herbs, wet leaves, earth, graphite and peppercorn.

Medium bodied soft and smooth with medium plus acidity and nice legs.

Dry on the palate with plums, over ripe strawberries, red currants, smoke, chocolates, mocha, pomegranates, peppercorn, herbs, spices, vegetables, earth and tar.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cranberries.

This Shiraz blend is still drinking nicely now, and still shows a nice tannin structure. Smooth and velvety mouthfeel and very complex, with many layers of fruits and earth notes. Lots of rotten fruits on the nose, but not much on the palate.

Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show some tannins.

Better than 2 years ago, but it is on the way out. Probably won't be as good next year.

A blend of 67% Shiraz and 33% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in oak barrels for 12 months.

14.2% alcohol by volume.

This is a rare Cabernet-Shiraz blend that has fruits and berry, but just right. Not too much; perfect balance. Really good!! The top of the cork was dried out and disintegrated, but with a little care the bottom half came out intact, so I didn’t have to decant to strain out the bits of cork.

Amy likes it but may have been influenced by prior wine taster.

This review is for Goose Wines Pinotage. Normally a blending grape but it's produced in SA as an estate 100% Pinotage. Ruby dark out of the bootle with notes of black fruits and oddly some mineral spirits on the finish. Not a killer red but drinkable.

Drank the 2008 in December 2016 and this was the right time. The wine wasn't tight and I could enjoy all the bold flavors. Bouquet is wonderful. Buy it now.

Clean, not bright but clear, slightly brick edge. Closed nose, searching the intensely plumb berry fruits come through - with a bit of warm coaxing the alcohol lifts a spicy tobacco nose. The full flavored open in the mouth, big and delicious. Velvety fruits backed by good tannins, slight acid tang with a glowing and lasting aftertaste. Splendid wine indeed.
