Smoky blackberry jam, hints of toasted oak and allspice. Well balanced with firm tannins and not too sweet as some Zins are. Paired perfectly with roasted rosemary/smoked paprika chicken and potatoes! ($8) [11/21/16]

Nice fruity nose, pepper and spice initially, then toasted oak with a jammy, long-lasting, pleasant finish.

Steady and dependable, bold old Zin brings it: mature and fruit forward bold big red fruit makes that initial entry and stays all the way thru finish.

Jammy, harsh bite for me. Probably better with a meat dish but not as a drinking wine.

I thoroughly enjoyed this wine, while my wife did not. Aromas of vanilla spice and even raisin dark fruit. Found it quite complex. Although not the driest wines with a slight sweetness, I enjoyed with select cheeses...and a Mexican style soup made with leftover turkey and turkey broth. Learning more CA Zins and I must I am enjoying them.

Decent wine for the price point. Too sweet for my taste.
