Glass-staining maroon. Dark berry liqueur, fruitcake, smoky oak and vanilla nuances on the deeply perfumed nose. Coats the palate with concentrated black/blue fruit, bitter chocolate and floral pastille flavors; baking spice and mineral nuances add lift and back-end cut. Fleshy and deep but energetic as well. Finishes on a youthfully tannic note, displaying sharp focus and impressive, dark-fruit-driven persistence. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, December 2020)

A big jammy cab. You can taste the dry, dusty brushy hillsides it came from: so it’s a great expression of its terroir. But let it breathe, and pair it with rich red meat. We grilled a flank steak with a Worcestershire butter, and it worked really well.

Let it breath - liked best 3 days after first opening (bottle recorked and kept in fridge during that time)
