Giovanni Canonica
Paiagallo Barolo Nebbiolo
Barolo from central casting that drank seamlessly despite its youth. Tar and roses, cherry pie baking somewhere, some wet earth hiding in my glass. Superb.

Dried cherry, tobacco and tar but way too young. Will check in again in five years or so.

Sep 8th, 2021So sweet on the nose almost sour. Palate is all business. Embarrassingly young.

Nov 9th, 2024Might have been a bit early opening this one. Was a good fun juicy red with some of the great floral notes you can get in a Barolo, but it didn’t have quite the complexity I was expecting. Easy drink and lots of fun, I may have had my expectations set too high.

Aug 12th, 2020Tasted at the winery. Very clean and elegant, good structure, great potential for aging

Oct 5th, 2019Had this wine in Turin while having lunch at Alimentare Contesto, simpely juicy and very different Barolo, almost like a ting Beaujolais, soft maceration carbonic, not a Barolo to keep, just drink up!
