Had at Paris conference on aging research where I was invited to talk about our findings on progeria (accelerated aging in children). Was delighted to see champagne served before dinner and had two glasses of this light-colored and large-bubbled but fresh, orange-lime-lemon citrusy and brioche-tinted apperitif. It was simple and lacked complexity but was refreshing and well-suited for the occasion.

From small satellite region NE of St Emilion that grows 80% merlot: Dark purple low viscosity; nose has dark fruits like blackberries and blackcurrants along with forest floor aromas, molten leaves, leather, a hint of minerality, and a with whiff of a floral spicy note (perhaps oak); less eciting on the palate with rough tannins and higher than the indicated alcohol, some liquorice and mushrooms: well made and good with my steak, but kind of disjointed (not just youthful). Five years in the cellar might be the cure?

Elegante e armonico, ricco di agrumi ma non piatto, un ottima variabilità con note burrose, tostate e minerali. rispetta a pieno la sua caratteristica e la sua origine
