Marlborough Pinot Noir

Color: definitely the ruby color that is expected of pinot noir

Nose: blackcurrent, raisins, that lager smell, red apples.

Light bodied, tart, oaky. Very faint tannin. Alcohol content feels naturally induced. Oakiness fills the nostrils after each sip.

I picked it for a dinner which didn't turn out working well with the wine, I'm enjoying the wine more without the food. Lovely plumb with an earthy and somewhat spiced aftertaste. I'm finding it hard to find the red cherry described on the tasting notes though.

Paired with Tuna Steaks with Olive and Caper sauce and Farro Salad with Feta and grape tomatoes. Desert: local fresh berries with a dollop of honey yogurt.
