On the palate, M-M+ tannins, black raspberries, raspberries, black cherries, blackberries, cherries, poached strawberries, black licorice, sweet lifting spices, strong; clove, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanilla, blue fruits round out the longer finish, big chalkiness, some leather & volcanic minerals. I love this wine. Yes it is a bit forced and un-pinot like. It imposes rather than dances. Is dark and brooding and has the weight of a shiraz. But the flavour profile and structure are fabulous.

Still the best nonBurgundy pinot I’ve ever tasted. Deep, complex, and alluring. The four-square structure is seamlessly integrated with rich complex black fruit, and loads of spice. At cellar door. Regal.
