Second set of samples from Gibbs, and we were super excited to try these! Tasted both of these blind to make it interesting. Straight away you could tell this one was the Merlot. Dark ruby red in the glass. Nose started off with some smoked maple bacon, some slight cinnamon and coated with dark berries and blueberries. Palate started with an attack of dark fruits and a slight caramel undertone. Slightly furry and moderate tannins (6/10). Definitely a wine to drink on day one, day two palate was almost completely gone. Moderate body and finish. Drink till 2019.
