One of the most profound wines I've tasted in ages. Sophisticated youth. Delivers richness without overt weight. Absolutely sensational wine. My first 100 score ever.

Highly perfumed. Reminiscint of a Spice Drawer. Medium to light bodied - more like a Pinot than a Shiraz regarding weight and texture. Savoury salty minerally plums on palate. Anyone who thinks Australia only makes blockbuster Shiraz should try this. Made by Rick Kinzbrunner, better known for his brilliant Chardonnays but this is different and moreish. Bravo.

2008, by the way. Earthy, truffly, meaty layers with very fresh black fruits. Drinking really well but plenty of time ahead. Really good.

The most unAustralian Shiraz ever. I know Barossa people are doing whole bunch and getting close to this, but this is super old world-dirty barrel-stemmy briny Syrah with moderate alc and depth and health at age 9.

This is the 2004 vintage. Expected more. Lovely cool climate nose - the peak was probably a year or 2 ago. Medium weight.
Nose of meat and hung game. 17.

Dark and brooding. Was a little funky at first but that blew off after 1hr + in decanter. Exotic spice and richness, medium bodied but long and silky on the palate. Another fantastic Beechworth Shiraz!
