This is serious Barolo at its plateau. Monfortino was not produced in 2009 so the fruit went into cascina francia. It added weight and complexity. Tar, black fruits, peppery. Long burn, outstanding.

Второй нос- сочно кизил, ежевика, шоколадная крошка с нюансами мяты,каркадэ и сухих лепестков розы.
Вкус: кислотность- средняя+,
тело- среднее,
вишня, гранат, клюква, незрелая малина с горчинкой гранатовой цедры и сочно-окатывающими, бархатистыми танинами.
Послевкусие- свеже-ягодное, продолжительное, аккуратно-приперечное с нюансами сицилийского апельсина.

Great vintage for this Francia as no Monfortino was made & all juice was blended in this wine. Plush & polished with red, black fruits, licorice, spice, leather, rose petal & tobacco. This has many years left but so good now why wait.

An absolutely wonderful Barolo from Conterno. First time having wines from G. conterno, as far as I remember. Had with a perfect rare chianina beef florentine style steak.

If I could go back and time I’d like to redo my senior Econ thesis to better explain the difference in European and American wine list pricing at restaurants. This wine was sold for $30 less than the *release price* in the US. Really a lovely nebbiolo.

Very moody and expressive. Young for sure but it was wonderful now. Approachable in every sip but lots going on in the bouquet and the finish.
