Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo

Totally on point, has the classic intensity of the vintage, but showing some undergrowth complexity indicative of the age. Really needs some food, but loving the richness to it.

This is still a very big tannin wine with lots of oak, mid fruit and leather. Still a hold for another 5 years plus.

Скукожившаяся, чуть подтёкшая пробка. В аромате легкая летучка, возрастные, развитые ноты, повторяющиеся во вкусе. Сухие цветы, мягкая слива, спелая вишня, мятая клюква, грибы, смола, тонкие специи, кожа, земля. Заметная кислотность, интегрированные танины. Насыщенно и выразительно, объёмно в бокале, без большой элегантности, с чуть дряблым мышечным тонусом.

Decanted for 3 hours before dinner and was very nice: tannins and acidity held up to a steak very nicely. All the nice Barolo features; leather, tar, dark fruit, anise. Saved half for the next day with lunch. Softer tannins of course, mushroomy (truffle even), reminds me of why I love Nebbiolo.

Red brick, plum, rose and charcoal

Incredible once it had a moment to open up. Dried orange peel, dusty, still a hint of red fruit.

Another treat from the CWFF. Someone had mentioned leather in their descriptives, and I believe that is one of the best on this wine. When you take the tannins and add in the medium earth background, that is what you get.
