Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Dense and masculine. Broad white thick fruit. Nice rounded edges. Lacks a little of the complexity of the 67 and 64 but good solid fruit.

Dark fruit with resolved notes of tobacco and dark dried plum. Fuller fruit on the midpalate with hints of tea and caramel. Good length

Pretty sherried note in the nose. Some tar and dried roses on the palate. A bit more flesh on the midpalate than the 61. Poised

A pretty nose. Tea, dried flowers, brown sugar, some treacle notes. On the palate fruit a little thin and tart.

Very vigorous and translucent. Bright fresh cherry, some slightly shrill acid and lovely soft focussed fruit. As always with Borgogno, this is lean, mean and built to age forever. Good stuff.

Secondary, slightly oxidized at first then revealing beautiful higher toned perfume

Interesting but not nearly as great as the ‘70
