Still quite intense. Savory. Plum, tomato? In good shape

Nov 26th, 2020A little bricking on the edges but the nose is very pure. Shows it’s age but not defeated at all- there’s dried cherry and some leather on the nose. The midpalate fleshes out over hours in glass. It’s lean, translucent, medium bodied but still quite pure and fine. Notes of tea, dried roses, kombucha. There’s little actual decay here- it’s showing age but aging at a glacial pace. You need to love this kind of wine but I do when they’re in this shape. Very good.

Apr 26th, 2020Very savory. Slightly stinky and tangy with almost tomato like vegetable notes. This has lovely sweet fruit still and is a great bottle.

Jan 5th, 2019Astounding amount of fruit for its age and it was still drinking well 90 minutes post pop. An enduring stud from @David L that was truly impressive. Not impressive in a “damn good for a 50 year old wine” way but just plain damn good. Resolved tannins, minimal bricking, palpable nose of violets, flavors of garrigue, bay leaf and bruised plum covered in damp earth.

Nov 25th, 2018Night 1 of the Fall WNH event in San Antonio. What a killer start to the extended weekend, all courtesy to Shawn and Jennifer for hosting! Tonight was Italian wines.
Bloodied tomato, stinky cherry and raspberries. Color was gorgeous for the age. A nutty note on the finish with an earthy and mulch like note too. Leave it to @David L to bring a wine like this! Simply incredible for 54yrs young!

Aug 7th, 2014Supposedly from an original and not reconditioned, but way too fresh for that to be the case imo. Still very good, but had to wade through some youth to get to the good stuff.
