Antichi Vigneti Propri Riserva Barolo Nebbiolo

Incredibly youthful and complete. One of the greatest barolo I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. Notes for myself: FDB bottle

Showed very well.

Had its moments but bottle had problems.

1961. Dried roses, balsamic, bright, integrated tannins, approachable, nice finish. A real treat, beat out the Monfortino.

Red top. Cork looked suspiciously perfect for a 50+ year old wine. I presume reconditioned. Clear pink with a touch of bricking. A sour and pretty bouquet with rose, tar and leather. Lovely at the front. A tart and broad sour mid-palate. Very savory with tobacco and dried cherries. Very balanced. A little short and not haunting like some of these.

Red top- not reconditioned. A feral, peppery and sour cherry nose. Glorious intense fruit. Sharp, defined and savory. Real length. Very pretty. In great shape.

Bottle was in great condition but wine was slightly past its prime. But still delightful with Italian food. On December 8.

Animal scent, soy sauce, smooth, cherries and medium acidity
