Leather and tobacco on the nose with a surprisingly smooth mouth given how young this is. Nice black fruit and a small hint of violet

A lovely showing. On the nose: wild strawberry, cherry, cocoa powder, earth, soft funk. On the palate: fantastic density and acidity, soft game, cocoa, wild strawberry, and closes with soft, very finely grained tannin. This is pitch perfect Clos de la Roche. Stunning.

2006 vintage. A bit too tight at first but quickly started breathing full force and brought up the softer tones. Stunning but gentle oak aroma, flowers and dried fruit. Earthy and sharp. Great wine.
