The Chenin Blanc adds another dimension to the predominantly Chardonnay based wine. Just right acidity leaves room for flavors to be enjoyed. Enjoyed in Chardonnay glasses, not flutes. Terrific!

70% Chardonnay, 15% Chenin Blanc, 10% Mauzac and 5% Pinot Noir. Méthode Champenoise. Not quite the "real stuff" but very good for the price (on sale for $10) and very quaffable even for discerning palates I would think.

Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was excited to try a crémant. I especially love other wines by Gérard Bertrand so I expected to really like (if not, love) this one. It wasn't until after opening it that I remembered a crémant is supposed to have teeny-tiny, little bubbles & not big fizz. So, that was my fault for not remembering when I bought it. I guess I thought the Brut would have just a smidge of sweetness to it, but it did not. It was, of course, very bready & doughy but with a sort of light, unsweetened lemon/lime curd going on. For me, if it would've had a bit of sweetness to it at all, I think I could've really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it was just a bit too dry for me. For a crémant however, I'm sure this is a really good one, especially for only $15. To finish the bottle, I made mimosas with it the next morning. (They were, yummy! 😋)
