Georges Descombes
Brouilly Gamay
Trying not to be partial because I love the grape, Descombes is approaching his old mentor in Lapierre here, but a little more focus on Brouilly’s vinous and herbal qualities. Fruit still is fresh.

Nov 12th, 2017Another Bojo I could drink all day. Raspberry, sour cherry, and cranberry (all the red fruits, really). This is so tangy and crushable, though it's got enough structure to remind you it's not just fruit juice. This went down far too easy

Yet the texture is full and luscious without being simple juicy fruit - the freshness is in its flesh and not just the acidity. When birds eat perfectly ripened grapes right off the vine they're probably experiencing something like this.
