2014. 100% Fogoneu. Another example of the fresher side of Spain. Bright, clear, lifted on the palate. Like Cru Beaujolais from Mallorca. A brilliant bottle of light red with tons of personality

Callet and Fogoneau grapes from Mallorca aged in clay cylinders. Not sure if it is made in a "natural wine" style (label says contains sulfites), but it sure tastes like many natural wines I've had. Light and somewhat interesting, but a little flat and acetic.

Light-bodied wine to be chilled and enjoyed with fruit or cheese or pre-dinner. Cranberry and pepper. Very nice for this style of wine, and neat to try a new grape.

Light strawberry with a fermenting whiff. Slightly spicy, funky, crazy. Very much like a naturalistic Frappato.
Light yet firm tannins, bright acidity. So food friendly yet not everyone’s cup of tea.

The bottle suggests that this wine is a blend of callet, monastrell, and manto negro. Yet, the distributor's website indicates that this wine was made from callet only. Regardless of the varietal composition, this was a delightful, yet funky bottle that had flavors of cherry cola, red licorice, and black tea. A good find...I always enjoy reds from Mallorca. 100% Callet (?). 2/24/22.

Probably more “interesting” than “good”, but needed a bottle to round out a case from Chambers and took a flyer. Enjoyed it. Like a much lighter Beaujolais almost. Light cherry, very little tannin, with a good chill a versatile pairer.
