Blackjack Pasture Cabernet Sauvignon

Showing the typical galante profile of green herbs (sage and lavender) bramble fruit and green pepper. This will be long lived. True to its terroir

Balance. Moderate, 13.6% alc. Complex Cabernet flavors.

Medium purple color. Aromas of blackberry, chocolate and herby mint. Fantastic wine! Aging very nicely - Jack Galante’s first vintage of Blackjack Cab.

Still drinking well after 10 years. Nose is oak, cedar, and dark fruit and ripe strawberry. More strawberry on the palate along with vanilla, cocoa, dark cherry, leather, clove, and cinnamon. High alcohol, medium tannins, and high acid with a long finish. Could probably age another 5 to 10 years, but I don’t see it improving. Drink it now.

Nice smooth finish. Has notes of toffee/caramel. Bold and goes well with seasoned chicken or bBQ 🍗

Green and black pepper, stewed dark fruit, leather, and black tea. The 2007 is smooth and well blended, but may be on the backside of its aging apex, with a bit more oxidation and a bit less tart fruit and acid than I’ve tasted in the past. Still a great wine.

Tobacco, leather, sage, dark fruit, with grippy tannins and lingering acid.

Dark fruit, black pepper, cherry, minerals, and leather.

Cigar box, tart fruit, pepper, and leather with a mineral backbone. Not quite the heft of premier Black Jack vintages and with a little drop off at the end of the palate, but chewy tannins and tingly acid roar back in the finish.

Nose is black pepper and baked apple. Tart fruit hits the palate early with more black pepper and oak. Still tart in the finish with chewy tannins and moderate acid that lasts a long time.
