On Friday we opened the 2019 Gaja Ca' Marcanda Magari Bordeaux Blend. From the Bolgheri region of Tuscany, Italy. A blend of 60% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot.
On the nose there is ripe fruit cherry, black raspberry, plum, black currant, licorice, spice and earth.
On the palate thereis cherry, black raspberry, plum, black currant, herbs, spice, licorice, graphite and earth.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a smooth silky mouthfeel medium +acidity and medium + plush rounded tannins that moves wonderfully into a long red & black fruit earthy finish.
