Gaia (Gaia's Estate)
Thalassitis Santorini Assyrtiko
See Delectable note from 23 weeks ago. No lengthy notes on this occasion but it retained the lemony citrus notes together with mineral and a distinct salinity. A refreshing and moreish Mediterranean white. Unoaked.

Mar 2nd, 2022The aromatics were typical of a Mediterranean white with flowers and minerality more so than fruit driven. Initially a creaminess to the palate which finishes quite mineral/salty. The saltiness dominates somewhat at the end which finishes bone dry. Following day a great match with fresh Pacific Oysters.

Sep 19th, 2021Nose of grapefruit and raw cotton, amber (amber, whatever that means). Palette has candied salted orange peel, gravelly minerality, a bit of rubber and honey and earth. Definitely one of our favorite wines, and this is drinking well. Also, Amber, who is she???
