Thalassitis Santorini Assyrtiko

See Delectable note from 23 weeks ago. No lengthy notes on this occasion but it retained the lemony citrus notes together with mineral and a distinct salinity. A refreshing and moreish Mediterranean white. Unoaked.

The aromatics were typical of a Mediterranean white with flowers and minerality more so than fruit driven. Initially a creaminess to the palate which finishes quite mineral/salty. The saltiness dominates somewhat at the end which finishes bone dry. Following day a great match with fresh Pacific Oysters.

So classic, so tasty

Waxy fun, herbal, great phenolic grip.

Nose of grapefruit and raw cotton, amber (amber, whatever that means). Palette has candied salted orange peel, gravelly minerality, a bit of rubber and honey and earth. Definitely one of our favorite wines, and this is drinking well. Also, Amber, who is she???

Lively acidity

Great well balanced with crisp acidity minerality and stone fruit

Better the next day.

Really lovely salinity, fresh acid, some herbs. Would love to taste this in a decade.

Bright, tart and acidic. Great with Greek food
