On the nose, violet petals, beets, and a little tobacco. On the palate, mint, liquorice, anise, plum, and gorgeous dark fruits. Finish is pleasingly herbaceous, with moderate tannins and a mild refreshing acidity. Very little barrel detectable but still so rich and satisfying.

I haven’t rated a wine in a long time. This one merited a rating. It’s like finding a value play in a sea of growth stocks or a girl who you’re attracted to who’s also an astro physicist and fights crime at night. It’s dry and flavourful.
