Gran Seleccion Cordon Negro Brut Cava Macabeo-Xarel-lo-Parellada

NV Poor man’s champagne for everyone in Catalonia. Much yeast in smell, vibrant taste. My Sunday breakfast bubbly.

Last tried this about 3 years ago. Clear straw yellow with vibrant bubbles. Fresh lively fruit aromas with a bright and crisp edge. On the palate ripe stone fruit flavors with a touch of citrus and a bit of yeast. The finish is about medium, had lively acidity and good balance. Consistent quality. A real bargain for $10. 

How much more black could this bottle be? The answer is none. None more black.

Too dry for me!

Quite OK Brut to celebrate something. Some apples in aroma, slight citrus notes in taste.

Lovely sparkling wine, so good, might prefer it to prosseco.

Brunch?

Pretty disappointing … only because I’ve had better from this producer. You can’t really expect much for the price. Usually my favorite under $10 but I overpaid for this bottle. Tasted 4 September 2022

Nose: apple. Taste: medium bodied, light bubbles, some mineral, light peach? Yeasty/bitter finish.

Considering I don't like cava, this is Not bad
