The label may say this wine is 11 years old but the vibrant ruby color and abundant fruit showcase a wine that feels younger. Blackberry, black cherry, cassis, plum, graphite, and wet stone are framed by firm oak notes - cedar, cinnamon, clove and silky tannins giving the wine a lovely texture. The bright acidity and well integrated alcohol (14.5% abv) give a nice foundation to slowly emerging tertiary notes of leather, forest floor, and mushroom. This has a great future ahead.

Prior notes still consistent, except new nose of wet charred wood and grilled cherry.

Audouze Method is going to be my total go-to way when opening older bottles...6H at time of initial tasting, showing better than prior decanted bottles.

Last of our '82 Bosché.

Prior notes still apply, this had slightly better fill than our prior, but far more stinky on the nose, palate suberb. 🤷‍♂️

Nose has over-ripe stinky cherry, dry leather, moist leather, old horse pasture, tomato leaf, blackberry, dried blueberry, dried mint, saturated oak and old cigar.

Palate has blackberry, partially dried cherry, dried raspberry, (minor) moist garden soil, wet raisins with soft tannins and a long finish.

Decanted 6H. High-shoulder fill on this particular bottle, one more bottle with minimal fill loss. Quite reminiscent of older Bordeaux in the nose/palate traits.

Paired alongside medium rare Delmonico cut steaks from our favorite local farm, Kinderhook Farm (Valatie NY). Perfection.

Palate has blackberry, partially dried cherry, dried raspberry, (minor) moist garden soil, wet raisins with soft tannins and a long finish. Decanted 4H and it's finally starting to really open up.

Mid-shoulder fill on this particular bottle, remaining bottles are looking better. Quite reminiscent of older Bordeaux in the nose/palate traits.

(BTW I love the old labels when they used to underscore the Cabernet Sauvignon, for me it's always been Cabernet Bosché, history in a bottle!)

Great and very complex nose, loaded with fruit and loamy minerals, framed by expensive oak. Wonderful red and dark fruit on the lengthy finish.
