This is such a pretty little Burgundy. Ruby red with a slightly subtle nose of red flowers, moist earth, and red cherries. Value Gevrey, who knew? Obviously so very young but still semi dynamic in the mouth and very well structured. As pretty and delicate as this is, there’s so much nice funk going on. It’s a more refined funk, but funk nonetheless. I say refined but I don’t mean austere, this is fine to open young and enjoy without a care in the world. Mushrooms, lavender, and cherries on the palate. That barnyard funk, cocoa, and dried herbs compliment. A wonderful little gem that restored my faith in Pinot.
