Moss, anise, rose. Light berry notes. Leather. Tannins are insistent and the body is poised. Acid is there, too. Lengthy finish.

Dried raisin, bitter almond, pencil lead, rum, dried tobacco leaf, bottled nutmeg, nougat. High acid, alcohol, and tannin. Beautiful complexity from a 5 year old Barolo. Goes great with Osso Bucco and a Gremolata of parsley, lemon zest, and garlic.

Very lovely. I suggest opening up and letting it sit for at least a day. Then the fruits and flowers and earthy goodness really shine! The oxygen also turns those pesky tight tannins so smooth and delicious.

N: Decanted 3 hrs. Reddish brown.
Big cherry liqueur nose, chocolate, leather. the woods, autumnal spice.
I detect French barrique.
P: Classic young Barolo, lots of mouth filling , Dark cherries, cocoa, herbs, cheek gripping tannins.
You can sense the barrique but itβs not overdone. W Bolognese, itβs really nice.
My thought is that many of the β16βs were designed for earlier drinking, esp. w the use of barrique.
I reduced my score a couple pts. after extended time out.The fruit didnβt cover the wood. A trifle disappointed.
