Despite double decanting for an hour, only reluctantly gave up a mix of cherries, dark fruit, rose petals and tar on the nose. Much more open on the palate - elegant and silky, developing some velvet over time. All the classic Barolo notes are there in a medium body, with a hint of the famed Monviglero green tapenade. Good tannic grip on the back end, but not a bruiser. Probably needs 4-8 years to really come into its own, but plenty enjoyable now.
