Medium bodied, menthol/eucalypt, mild spice, black fruited, fine tannin, good length. Feels a bit dilute compared to the 2014, and a lesser wine on the second night. Gary Walsh gave this 94 but I can’t quite see that.

Hardly any different to my note a year ago with a great array of aromatics despite its still youthful state; violets, bay leaf, mint, plum, black currant, dark chocolate, and cedar. Ripe tannins, acidity holding up well and good finish.

Savoury is the name of the game. Medium to full bodied, long finish, gravelly drying tannin, blackcurrent, mint, eucalypt. Great nose, 2 hr decant and felt it was finally opening up. Very left bank Bordeaux like, 85% cabernet sauvignon. 10% petit verdot. 2% merlot. 1% cabernet franc.

Couldn’t pick the bay leaves, sorry. 2019, drunk in 2024. Really nice drinking right now, feeling it will be awesome in another few years. Will try and get a case of this vintage.

Delicious gift from ... can’t remember 😭 Eldest daughter agrees (she picked the oak before reading the label).
