Franzia
Chillable Red
I don’t get to drink box wines too often, but here is one…
Light ruby in color with light intensity and a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose of cherries, strawberries, blueberries, vanilla, cloves, light smoke, wood and light black pepper.
Medium plus in body, and jammy with medium minus acidity.
Sweet on the palate with cherries, ripe strawberries, citrus notes, vanilla extract, light spices and wood.
Medium plus on the finish with tangy cranberries.
This is a nice surprise. It is drinkable, although a bit sweet for my taste. It is better when lightly chilled, though.
Very simple and not balanced, but not too offensive. Drinking more like a juice.
Good right out of the box. No need to wait… 😃
9% alcohol by volume.

Hey. It's in a 3L box. Adjusted my expectations accordingly. However, chilled on a hot day it reminds me of a Sangria. I'm not eating this with steak or lamb but perfect for tubing down a river on a with friends on a hot day.

Mar 25th, 2018this one is my 2nd favorite from Franzia. It’s semi-sweet and semi-dry so it’s not over powering. It’s easy to drink and extremely mellow in flavor. You can tell it’s not an expensive red because it lacks complexity but it’s perfect for entertaining or having around the house.

Feb 1st, 2018Um. Yeah. It's really sweet. And I mean REALLY sweet. Sweet to the point I mix it with the "Crisp White" to get a moderately balanced, umm, drink. That said, the price is right, and after the first couple, it gets tolerable. I still wouldn't call it wine per se, but it does the job, cheapside style.
