Frank Cornelissen
Munjebel VA (Vigne Alte) Bianco Grecanico Blend
Surprisingly good. Note of nuttiness, oxidation and sherry like vibes.

Sep 5th, 2023Lives up to the billing, bizarre, gentle cider flavor, followed by bruised peaches, green herbs, white flowers, and then a bitter orange, anise, earth-y finish. Truly unusual, hard to like but interesting to taste.

Aug 27th, 2017Ending the weekend with some football and a special bottle of wine: Frank Cornelissen's #Munjebel Bianco. Pretty sure this is the only white wine Cornelissen makes and it's worth finding a bottle. From his vineyards below Mount #Etna, the grapes are grecanico dorato & carricante, the wine itself is funky, delicious, fun and complex at the same time, with a lingering finish - to be honest it's hard to describe. A thinking wine for sure.

Jan 31st, 2016Weird as all get out but in a wonderful way. Barnyard funk on the nose, orange blossom, a little nuttiness (like a sherry), full bodied, deep minerality. Probably not for everyone but if you're brave with your wine, pop open a bottle if you're lucky enough to find one.
