Munjebel CS (Chiusa Spagnolo) Nerello Mascalese

A touch lighter and less ripe than some of the others which is maybe a product of the ‘15 vs ‘16 vintage. My personal fave out of the lineup

The evolution in the decanter and glass was crazy. Paired perfectly with wild boar pappardelle.

Much cleaner than anticipated, really structured, heavy, dense, and still showing a lightness...

Very lifted and fresh despite high abv. 60 year old nerello mascalese vines, non filtered, and very well made.

Munjebel 9 VA. Remarkable wine. Enjoyed with a rich, aged pecorino. Grippy, glazed with acidity and potent fruit. A brilliant expression of nerello.

Let's get weird

Beautiful bottle showing surprisingly clean flavors of ripe black fruits and ashy earth notes. The undertones of wild yeast fermentation linger on the finish and not on the mid palate like previous releases. Nonetheless an amazing experience especially paired with grilled sausage and kraut, farro salad, and bucatini from @Frannysbk #sicilianwine #naturalwine
