Les Veleys Mercurey 1er Cru Révélation Pinot Noir

It gets a 9.9 again! Jesus what a fucking wine. Terroir is even more important than most people realize. You can identify old vines in almost any Cistercian vineyard, cut yields, raise them like your children and you can have a great transcendent Pinot Noir. Stop being appellations snobs.

107 year old vines in Les Veleys 1er Cru. It is Mercurey. 6 grapes per vine. This wine is insane.

Preposterously well made. Terrific plum fruit. Very good now but should be sick in five years. The oak needs to integrate. Still an incredible wine from less heralded terroir.
