Black raspberries, currants, slight matchstick. Red fruit, white pepper, brambles, pressed flowers, orange rind. A bit linear, could use more mid-palate. But good pizza wine.

Unique wine by a notable producer. I’m finding both Cab Franc and Gamay characteristics here. Floral, herb, earthy and a tad green. Very dark fruit profile but with a very light palate weight. White pepper on the finish. There is a rusticity and delicacy that I enjoy.

Geek alert: Mondeuse from Bugey, which usually does whites & sparkling. Tangy, w some funk on entry, opens up to fine tannins & pretty blackberry. Very enjoyable. Dressner import

Severely green and uninteresting. Capsicum/jalapeño without any of the white pepper and vibrant fruit that can make Mondeuse compelling.
