Vintage 2014 - Smooth, I think it's a crowd pleaser. Has some spicyness, dome cherries, warm, sultry. #zinfandel #usa #coppola

I was really looking forward to this one, but was utterly disappointed. Almost bitter tasting and lacking character. Like a watered down version of what I had expected... Maybe just not a good bottle. Will give it another chance.

There is a surprising amount of depth to this wine. I haven’t drank much from the Coppola line, but didn’t expect much. I was surprised to find a wine that almost feels as if a Rhône Syrah and and Aussie Shiraz had a baby. Solid earth, black olives, currant and black plums are part of the highlights. The second row extras include cherry, raspberry and blueberry notes. This is surprisingly good, worth the entry price of around $12 a bottle.

Soft plums upfront with a dry mineral middle. And a very dry dry mouth finish.
