I don't know if it was the time I gave it to breathe or that badass Dominos Pizza, but this opened up into something decent. I was gonna give it a low 80s, but that buttery crust, cheese, and those fresh toppings really helped this bad boy along. Would definitely have this again on a pizza night.

Light and surprisingly bright cab that we paired with Vietnamese food (shaken beef and rice/noodles). Spicy nose with aromas of redwood and saucy bright red fruits. Pretty light body and not a lot of structure or layers - what you see is what you get. And I'm pretty cool with that. TBH I expected something a bit bolder with the "fortress" name and intimidating bottle so this was a bit of a curveball but I'm pretty pleased with it. Very drinkable. @Shannon Silver thought it was a Syrah which is actually a pretty good call now that it's opened and we have tasted it

Very light for a cab, would make for great summer drinking. Smooth tannins, slight acid in mid-palate, smoky with a hint of tobacco.

Nice cab. Good fruity notes medium dry. Perfect for watching Vinyl. Good value. Will buy again.
