Quite a recent vintage for a Barolo of this size and weight but showing well with a lovely balance of sour cherry, tar, roses & with the classic high acid but ripe tannic finish. Typical weight & depth from Serralunga and a lovely example from a benchmark producer.

Way too young but want to try. Light brick-red color w/ light purple rim; wonder- and power-ful nose of flowers (roses!), charcuteries, spices, anise and some oak flavours; medium-bodied, high alcohol and acids, youthful, lots of fine tannins, liquorice, "restrained-fruit-profiled" and a long rich but unbalanced finish. Better on nose than palate and should rest a few years, as expected. SaintSaens organ symphony rescued the afternoon.
