Santa Barbara County Syrah Grenache

FML! For the money ($12) this Syrah & Grenache blend is amazing. Drink it alone, with cheese & charcuterie, with or a spicy chicken and chorizo gumbo. I'm actually going back to Trader Joes to buy a case.

Decent label, but kinda cheesy. Light and bright color. Smells ripe and fruity. Flavors are gummy fruits and cherry jolly ranchers. Hint of rhubarb pie. This is unique, but not very complex.

Label art is a bit New Age. Blue is nice tho. I like blue. Color of wine 🍷 is darker than that emoji by a number of shades of purple. Smells like rocks in water, mineral oils and cherry syrup. Flavors are barrel heavy. Vanilla shit. Tons of ‘cedar’. Toffee and sawdust. Lots of barrel flavors. In fact I don’t really taste much fruit. Hint of berry-cherry. This is why CA has messed up the Syrah trajectory, fat, over-oaked, uninspired wines that have nothing of fruit. Just a disappointing Syrah all around.

Another TJ’s value. Nice taste, great color and depth/lingering flavor. A definite “do over”.

A nice wine which can be found at Trader Joe’s. The majority of the flavor is on the finish chocolate and cherry notes.

Surprisingly good inexpensive Trader Joe's wine , nice for an every day type of wine with dinner. Give it a try.
