May 20th, 2016Medium purple with an explosive nose of black currant, black berries, raisins, roasted meats, green peppercorn, and tar/motor oil. Dry, but brings fruit across the palate. This medium bodied wine has well-integrated tannins and strikes me as being more similar to an old world style syrah from Rhone though produced in Sonoma county. Finish lingers nicely.
