Monthly WTF group. Theme this month was merlot. All wines tasted blind.
I guessed this was French and that it was mid-2000s. Quite a bit of herbal notes, soft plum and stewed red and black fruits. Low acidity. Came across as over the hill a bit, which is surprising given the vintage. Still a nice merlot from Sonoma.

2012 vintage. Deep color with chocolate and rich plum. Well balanced with just the right oak. Exciting to taste '12 vintage coming out of the West coast. We are all in for a treat.

Ok can you say absolute monster tannin and fruit bomb. This is definitely not from Pomerol or st. Emilion. I think you al understand!!
