Billed as an affordable Napa Cab (~$30), this is a joint venture between Jeff Smith (Hourglass) and Rob Lawson (Ghost Block, Mirror, Pavi, etc.), so I bit on the $8 closeout. Fully mature with dusty, dried black cherry and secondary earth with some very faint cocoa powder. An unremarkable undercard. I won't be buying more, even at this price. Score this round to the 2011 vintage.

Jan 19th, 2017Astringent / stemmy finish. Not 100% cab - has small amount of petite Verdot and petite Syrah. Other tasting notes include hints of cocoa, cherry, and slightly woody.
