I find most Merlot to be boring. This was worth drinking.

This is young and quite structured. Reminiscent of a young right bank wine. Dark core of fruit, mocha and a touch of anise. I like it now but I’d recommend holding.

Very intense and muscular Right-Bank Merlot-based Bordeaux blend. The wine is well-made and elegant but much bolder than anything produced in Saint-Emilion. Needs steak. This is a very big fruit bomb to start followed by a long elegant finish. Not my style but for those looking for the big bold California style this is it.

What a great way to kick off a new year. We are big fans of Merlot and this is one of the best we’ve enjoyed. Elegant aromas of red currants, baking spices and cinnamon. Once you start drinking the wine there are bold flavors of dark cherries, chocolate, anise and black pepper. The tannins are ultra sleek and the finish is intense. A very well crafted wine. Interestingly, my wife and I both thought our initial taste reminded us of grape flavored cough syrup your mother may have given you as a child (I say this in the very best way).

as the great Paul Edward Valentine Giamatti once said, “fuck merlot!” ....but WOW! This is fantastic, drinks similar to a Napa Cab, but light, medium alcohol, notes of dark cherry. Great wine to kick off a fine cuisine dinner (Enchiladas)!
